Review

This anime also goes by "Famalia Myth" or "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon Trailer?" I watched all 13 episodes in one go and noticed many similarities with “Sword Art Online”, the “H.A.C.K” series, and basically all the anime's based off mmorpg’s.

The story line is pretty simple, basically Bell Cranel, joins his goddess Hestia "familia". Becomes an adventurer, finds his love interest, and throughout the anime tries to become strong enough to be with his love interest. On the way he meets his harem of girls and gets himself in constant love triangles.

Aside from the random comedic scenes of the anime. One thing this anime does have is amazing fight scenes. The match between Bell and the Minotaur beautifully set up. Simple and not drawn out. For some reason the art style reminds me of a chibi version of “D. Grayman”. Each character looks very similar to their “D.Grayman” counterparts as well (ie; Bell Cranel and Allen Walker).

*** Warning *** SPOILERS below ***

Questions, so many questions at the end of the anime. Not sure if they were rushed to finish the anime. I have not read the manga so I am not sure if it explained there, but Dan Machi just ends. Bell Cranel levels up and goes to only to the mid levels of the tower and then after the fight with the floor boss, the anime ends.

Why did the floor boss collapse through to the safety floor? Where did the first expedition crew go? Did they break the floor and cause the floor boss to fall down one level? If so, why did they not come back to help the second expedition crew defeat the floor boss?

Then during the fight, how does Bell Cranel get the giant sword? I know his supporter gives it to him, but where did she get it from? Why did the weapon disappear after being used?

Did Bell ever end up with the Queen of Swords? Which girl within his harem did he end up with?
What happened to the other members that were fighting the floor boss?

Why did Hermes come to earth to check on Bell? Why was Freya testing Bell? Was Hermes Bell’s Grandfather? None of these questions get answered.

Why? why? Y? Why? WHY?!?! Again the anime just ends and nothing but questions.

Here is just one of the amazing fight scenes found throughout this anime. This fight scene was the actual scene that made we want to watch the whole series after hearing about it from a friend.

Overall

If you have a couple hours to spend and want to watch a simple and short anime with great fight scenes. Then this anime is for you. As for me, other then the fight scenes the anime doesn’t have much substance and it ends abruptly right before the story was started getting interesting.

Here is the link to Crunchy Roll, where you can watch the series in its entirety:
